KAMI! Album Cover
I had the honor of shooting and designing the KAMI! album cover for my good friend and Warner music artist @kazuotv. Music is a huge part of my life so to be able to take part in sharing kazuo’s story was a huge privilege. This album is especially unique since it carries a message that I resonate with on a personal level. While we grew up differently, both of us come from a mixed background so the idea of feeling like we don’t fit in within either of our home countries was something I was all too familiar with. Into the Sun
The move to Japan felt extremely intimidating when considering all of the lifestyle and social changes. I felt like Icarus, being too ambitious and flying too close to the sun, I wasn’t sure if I could handle all of the pressure. But unlike Icarus, instead of crashing and burning I decided to picture myself driving ambitiously head-first into the sun. Therefore, I thought this photo was a good depiction for how I felt. Bold and ambitious.

Collages
Photo dumps have become an increasingly popular way to share photos on Instagram. As someone who takes a lot of photos, I was very enthusiastic to hop on this trend and post my collections of miscellaneous photos. However, when I say I take too many photos, I take too many photos… I coulnd’t fit my 20+ photos into a 10 photo carousel. To navigate this dilemma I got a little inspiration from an old family photo album. Instead of posting individual photos, why not create a digital collage? This allowed me to share all the bits and pieces of different adventures in a new, yet nostalgic way.
