Japan: Winter 2017-2018

I was lucky enough to spend my first winter in Japan with my family in 2017. Here are some photos throughout that experience.

Despite the fact that it tends to snow a lot in the rural areas of Japan it doesn’t stop anyone. People change their tiny K-Cars to have snow tires and keep going about with their lives.

New Years holds as much weight in Japan as Christmas does in the US. This was taken on New Years after midnight. Its tradition to visit several shrines in order to bring on a healthy and bright new year.

Not a picture I took, but this is me. My younger brother and I were wandering around the castle grounds in my mom’s hometown during a snowstorm. It was crazy beautiful but a little eerie since we were the only ones around.

A Cinematic Japan

A short video made up of a collection of random recordings I had on my phone and DSLR.

The moon over Tokyo on a late December night. This was taken up on Roppongi hills, a popular place for wealthy young people to hang out.

My little brother taking in the view of a highway from Roppongi Hills. Not gonna lie we didnt spend much time up there considering it was freezing cold and windy.

My favorite photo from the whole trip. The streetlights that go along the castle moat. My dad used to pass this road everyday before work before I was born.
