Heritage: 9-23-22

As I turned 23 I decided to head to my hometown, Aizu. While I was there the Aizu-matsuri took place. The Aizu-matsuri is an annual celebration of Aizu-Wakamatsu’s extensive and rich history. Nicknamed “Samurai City” the people of the town paraded out in traditional clothing, including Samurai Armor. The famous actress Ayase Haruka, who starred in the well-received historical-drama set in Aizu, “Yae no Sakura,” made her yearly appearance in the same outfit she wore in the show. Despite the rain everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves :)

A poster I made for fun using the collection of photos I took from that day.

Oji-san gave me a wave :)

Ayase Haruka had a crowd following her throughout the whole parade
