(Archives) High School Art Show: 2017

This is the collection of photographs that I displayed for my high school’s art show back in 2017 where I was fortunate enough to win “Best in Show.” The theme I chose was “Escape.” The Artist Statement for this show was as follows:

Escape

Life is a balance of ups and downs. It's a culmination of moments story filled with different moments. But when you think about it there are these certain moments in your life where you feel nothing but joy, a temporary escape from everything. Just like that feeling you had as a kid on Christmas morning. These moments for me happen when I’m behind my camera out with my friends.

I constantly find myself thinking about grabbing my camera and going exploring with them, to get away from all of the problems and responsibilities in my life. I think we all wish we could live a stress free life and have nothing to worry about. But in these short moments of escape, it’s almost like you’re living that life you dream about. I don't find a lot of time to actually get behind my camera when I’m out with my friends but when I do it’s something magical. My show captures these moments with my friends and family where I had the opportunity to get behind my camera and just escape.

Some photos of high school Keegan that I’ll probably regret posting.
